At New India Assurance the wellbeing of our team, our clients, our communities and our fellow citizens are very important to us. As such we continue to diligently monitor the rapidly evolving developments surrounding the COVID -19 (Coronavirus) outbreak across the globe and closer to home in the Caribbean. As the leading insurance entity in the Caribbean, our team has already implemented several measures to ensure that the risk of the Coronavirus is minimised.
We have ramped up our Health & Safety and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and the following measures are already in place:
- Placed safety and preventative messages from WHO/PAHO in our lobbies for clients to take home.
- Increased the number of hand sanitizer in our lobbies, elevators and rest rooms for both clients and team.
- Mobilised our health and safety and business continuity plans to ensure our preparedness is aligned with the level of risk to team, clients and fellow citizens.
- Implemented a multi-level action plan from level 1 to level 4 to ensure readiness to any eventualities; with level 4 being the highest level –“notification of declaration of national emergency and or national shutdown”.
- Identified critical operations and plans that include reassigning team members from non-critical functions if employee absence is threat.
- Confirmed the chain of command and alternate for leader and critical roles.
- Engaged critical vendors to minimise disruption of our supply chain.
- Readied our internal and external communication plans to provide accurate and timely information to all stake holders.
We take this opportunity to remind you of the following:
- Wash your hand often with soap and water for at least 20 – 40 seconds and avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched object and surfaces.
We are aware that during this time you may also have question regarding our continued service to you, rest assured that in the event of physical office may be inaccessible, the New India Assurance team will continue to provide our usual high level services via telephone or digital access.

RENEWALS / ENDORSEMENTS
Any renewal or endorsements of policies may be requested at the mail managerniatt@newindiatt.com for facilitating our existing customers with quick response and timely confirmation of risk coverage.
Note: Should the situation necessitate, you will receive online on your registered mail id, a system generated authorised document from us (New India Assurance) confirming the risk coverage, risk period and premium.

PAY YOUR PREMIUM
It is always advised to pay your premium in time. All of our existing payment options will remain available. However in view of the health advisory for better prevention and control of COVID-19, we would advise you to pay your premium via following options:
- Whenever you visit our branch offices to collect the physical document of the policy.
- Via Wire transfer at referred banking details Bank of Baroda T&T – A/c No. 95610200000772
and send the copy of payment particulars at these email id with your policy No and risk Period at
CLAIMS
In the event that circumstance warrant that we are unable to open for business as usual, claim form along with the pictures of your claim may be submitted electronically by scanning and emailing them to <hoclaims @newindiatt.com>. A soft copy of the claim form has also been stored in the drive, as well as mailed to all In-charges, who can forward the same to anyone who wishes to report a claim. Our internal system are setup so that most of our correspondence is already received electronically.
Please continue to monitor Governmental news briefing and updates, traditional news agencies and reliable social media outlets for news on the pandemic. We also recommend that you visit the website of agencies such as World Health Organisation (WHO – www.who.int ), Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO – www.paho.org ), Centres for disease control and prevention (CDC – www.cdc.gov ), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA – www.osha.gov.tt ) for continuous updates. We urge you to be careful and conscious, but without fear or panic.
